Lenovo will build manufacturing plant in Monterrey, Mexico. The 260,000-square-foot Monterrey facility is the company’s largest industrial investment outside of China and is expected to increase PC production in the Americas to about 5 million units annually.
The company chose Monterrey for its inexpensive labor and central location in the Americas after reviewing dozens of locations in Mexico, Canada and the United States. The Monterrey plant will ship parts and computers to the North Carolina hub and another to be announced on the West Coast.
